Love the way these chairs were set up at this ceremony. Always consider the shape of your ceremony space and work with it, not against it.

Three things immediately appealed to me when I came across this wedding. First, the ceremony’s on a lake, and second, it’s on Lake Como! A gorgeous lake in Italy? What more could anyone want? But what made the find even sweeter was to see that the photographer was one that I had worked with personally (but not on this wedding….bummer). Corbin Gurkin is an incredibly talented photographer who specializes in destination weddings, and she’s a pleasure to work with. Be sure to check out her website and blog, where you can see the whole story of this wedding as it ran in the Summer 2010 issue of Inside Weddings.

Kate & Keith: Beach Wedding

Fiji

beach wedding

I love happening upon a great blog I’ve been unaware of, and I love it even more when I find an amazing beach wedding on it to share. Spotted this wedding on magnoliarouge.com, and it’s simply beautiful. Kate and Keith got married at the Hilton in Fiji (imagine?!), and photographer Greta Kenyon of Vela Images captured the whole thing. The couple wanted a laid back tropical feel for the day, and they certainly achieved it. Not only are the colors perfect, but the tropical flowers (notice the fragipani pinned right onto the groomsmen’s shirts….keeping casual), parasols, and short, breezy bridesmaid’s dresses hold true to their vision. Kate’s dress, from la Sposa, is layered, airy, and looks like it was made for this location. From now on, when I imagine the perfect wedding on a tropical beach, this one will come to mind first.
