Take a look at this video of Dawn Ranch Lodge. Looks super cute to me. I’d go in a heartbeat. Nadine and Arno chose a very charming location for their wedding. Big love.

Waterside Wedding: Coreen & Steven

Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine, Washington

December 9th, 2011

Waterside weddingCoreen and Steven were high school sweethearts who grew up on the coast of British Columbia. They decided on a not-so-far-away destination wedding and got married along the water at Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine, Washington, right across from the bay where they first met. waterside weddingwaterside weddingwaterside weddingCoreen and Steven’s wedding was a crisp mix of lime green, navy blue and white. These polka dot bridesmaids’ dresses look perfect in this setting. Bright green kermit mums in the boutonnieres carried the green theme for the groomsmen. waterside weddingwaterside wedding waterside wedding Not only were so many of the details of this day handmade by the bride and her family, but Coreen even made the gorgeous invitation suite! waterside weddingwaterside weddingwaterside wedding waterside weddingLove the idea of alternating graphic napkins at each place setting. Beach Wedding Invitations

Bradley & Lily

April 29th, 2011

Great beach wedding invitations aren’t as easy to find as you might think. ¬†Almost all stationery companies have designs that are suitable for a beach wedding, but it takes some time to find a design that isn’t screaming “beach.” I found Bradley & Lily today, and want to pass their name around. Based in Hawaii, the design and letterpress studio has lovely invitation suites that are semi-custom, and others that can be customized just for your wedding and location. Certainly the beach, ocean, and Hawaii are big sources of inspiration for the designers, but their work isn’t limited to those themes. Take a look at their adorable Mokulua invitation suite below. Makes me want to put on a grass skirt and a coconut bikini top! beach wedding invitations

Alison Events Opens East Coast Office

San Francisco, CA and Rowayton, CT

January 10th, 2011

I’ve been following Alison Events, a wedding and events planning company that specializes in destination weddings (and is based in my favorite city, San Francisco) from the very minute I got into this business. I love everything about them, as far as I can tell. I love their website, their blog, the fact that they have a special place in their hearts for photographer Thayer Allyson Gowdy (her wedding photo site) whose very special work I’ve been following for years, and the idea that they just opened an east coast office right in my old neck of the woods, Fairfield County, Connecticut. I couldn’t have put them in a better spot myself. I can hardly wait to see what this talented group does with weddings all through New England, and I’m especially excited to see the weddings on water, of course!

Lame, I know, that I don’t have any of their imagery posted, but I didn’t want to lift without permission, and I just learned today, via Twitter, that the east coast office was now open (in lovely Rowayton, CT), so I chose not to wait. Nevertheless, be sure to check out their book, published by Chronicle Books,
