Kestrin & Jonathan: Wedding #2

San Francisco, CA

November 1st, 2011

Kestrin and Jonathan had an oceanside wedding in Carmel, CA and then followed it up the next day with a second wedding in San Francisco at Flora Grubb Gardens. Wedding #2 has nothing to do with water, other than the fact that San Francisco is on the bay….I know….quite a thematic stretch, but the party looks like it was amazing, so I had to show it. The venue, the wedding, and the guests are all pretty avant garde (guests were asked to dress for a meeting with the Queen of Hearts). Kestrin and Jonathan definitely achieved the “Wonderland” measured chaos they were hoping for. Thanks to Feather Love Photography for sharing these photos.

Kestrin & Jonathan: Oceanside Wedding

beach wedding Kestrin and Jonathan had two wedding ceremonies, a day apart. The first, shown in this post, was held on a bluff at Carmel River State Beach in Carmel, CA, (where Jonathan proposed) and was attended by a small group of about 50 friends and family, and the couple’s dog, Batgirl. Jonathan proposed to the bewitching Kestrin with these words, “I know you’re perfectly capable of living this life on your own, but I want to live it with you.” I don’t blame him. Kestrin looks pretty cool, if you ask me. Continue on and you’ll know she is.Love the dramatic, moody, windy sky that day, and I really love the chic air plant bouquet, courtesy of the very talented Flora Grubb, who happens to be the groom’s sister. A simple, waterside family celebration took place afterwards at the Monterey Peninsula Country Club Beach House. The following day, it was off to San Francisco for a second ceremony, followed by a raucous party, all held at Flora Grubb Gardens. Post to follow soon. Many thanks to Feather Love Photography.

beach weddingThe best part of writing a wedding blog is looking at and reading about all the different ways couples interpret the idea of a wedding. I can’t even begin to explain how compelling it is. At least it is for me, and if you’re reading this, then it probably is for you, too.

I’ve had my eye on this particular wedding for quite a while, and I’m so excited to finally have it on Waterside. Kestrin and Jonathan, two very creative people, had a unique vision for their wedding, and Feather Love Photography took a very cinematic approach when shooting the day, wait…2 days, of this wedding. The results are amazing. This is just a teaser today. I’ll post the first wedding (the waterside one) in the next few days, and their second wedding (in SF – has nothing to do with water at all, but it’s too cool to miss) soon after that. Keep in mind that Kestrin and Jonathan met at Burning Man, and if you’re unfamiliar with that annual event, do a little research before the next post. It makes the whole story even more interesting.
