Waterside Wedding: Coreen & Steven

Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine, Washington

December 9th, 2011

Waterside weddingCoreen and Steven were high school sweethearts who grew up on the coast of British Columbia. They decided on a not-so-far-away destination wedding and got married along the water at Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine, Washington, right across from the bay where they first met. waterside weddingwaterside weddingwaterside weddingCoreen and Steven’s wedding was a crisp mix of lime green, navy blue and white. These polka dot bridesmaids’ dresses look perfect in this setting. Bright green kermit mums in the boutonnieres carried the green theme for the groomsmen. waterside weddingwaterside wedding waterside wedding Not only were so many of the details of this day handmade by the bride and her family, but Coreen even made the gorgeous invitation suite! waterside weddingwaterside weddingwaterside wedding waterside weddingLove the idea of alternating graphic napkins at each place setting. Christina & Paul: Ocean View Wedding

Whidbey Island, Washington

October 31st, 2010

Waterside weddings are not for the faint of heart. There’s always the possibility that less than perfect weather will thwart your well-laid plans. Should a little drizzle dampen your day, the spirit with which you face this unwelcome guest will set the tone for your wedding, and it will say a lot about who you are as a couple. Rise above the rain.

Christina and Paul did exactly this, and their ocean view wedding at Deception Pass State Park on Whidbey Island in Washington was rustic, fun, and undetered. The following photos, shot by Sergio Mottola, show a bunch of happy people having a great time together. Rain be damned.

By the way, Rolling Fire Pizza sent the mobile wood-fired pizza oven. Is there an easier way to make people happy than feeding them handmade pizza? I don’t think so. weddings by waterweddings by waterweddings by waterweddings by waterweddings by waterweddings by waterweddings by waterweddings by waterweddings by waterweddings by waterweddings by waterweddings by waterweddings by waterweddings by waterweddings by waterweddings by waterweddings by waterweddings by water
